M.3R (Curry) and M.4R (S) pg 09
I know this comic isn’t supposed to be about Legolad, but I thought it would be fun seeing him try to develop a new trope and fail. He’s OP, but he earned it the hard way.
You might be thinking flight alone is a trope, and you’d be right, but there’s a reason why Legolad didn’t think of that. And it’s not just that One Piece and My Hero Academia are sold big numbers, and American comics don’t, so naturally he’d find those books first. Sadly, that is part of it, but not all – which means Legolad will be stealing more screen time from the waifus.
And here I would have thought of Superman .. ah well, the times do move on, don’t they ?
Ah well, at least his ballsack cushioned the impact from the fall. 😂
Yeah, the America comic book industry is pathetic, and at one level this joke is about that. But also I just happened to watch the episode of My Hero Academia where Midoria flew by kicking the air, and I thought “that’s what Sanji did in One Piece.” My joke doesn’t make sense, even with the explanation I have coming. Maybe I shouldn’t have done this one.
Naw, it’s fine.
You do you, that’s always the best.
Thanks. Hopefully people won’t mind the nonsense so much since it’s comedy.
Just so .. besides, he’s trying to invoke a non-existant trope … it’s bound to be a little silly to begin with. 😁
That reminds me, in the Fast and Furious 9 trailer they’ve got a semi flipping end-over-end, just like in the Dark Knight. Is that enough for a trope?
Oh the semi thing I thought was part of the larger – SFX that look cool to a 7 year old but are stupid and impossible in our universe. Just watch a bit of “Heavy Rescue: 401” and you will see transports doing all sorts of things but most times they look like wet paper towels after a kid was done with it.
It was silly in the Dark Knight too, one of my least favorite parts of that movie. I hope FF9 is mocking it and not just copying.
